What type of small tank for water to water heating?

I want to dump the S19J Pro boards that will burn excess production into a small tank that will sit under the Skoolie’s queen mattress next to the 100 Gallon fresh water tank.

Wondering if anyone has knowledge of a good tank before I go looking. I’m not sure of how to search for the tank I am looking for. A maybe 10-20 gallon insulated tank with the exchanger but without heating element. I’m not sure this even exists?

Are you using hydro blocks on the miner? Wondering if it makes sense to use an rv or general low profile water storage tank, coil the miner loop pipe/tubing all around it, then wrap everything in insulation. Basically surround the tank with the hot miner loop.

Probably want a radiator at the end of the loop depending on how much power you have to burn since the miner wont get much cooling.

Always nice to do the dishes with warm water!

I really like these indirect hot water heaters. You can hook up a boiler (or miner) to heat the exterior cavity which is separated from the internal potable water.

Looks like the smallest they offer is 30gal though. There may be other indirect hot water heaters out on the market, I haven’t looked very hard.

You could get one of those small insulated tanks from any home supply store. Instead of getting a specialty tank, just put a cheap pump on the water heater tank output and connect it to a temperature controlled relay. Run it through a brazed plate HX and back to the tank. You may need a check valve or two but I think it would work.

this is perfect but the height of 38” means it wont fit under the bed with the 100 gallons of fresh

I will have on demand propane water heating, but want to precharge and/or just dump heat into a tank if I can. Im using https://cryobytelabs.com/ water block kit and it is stellar.

Something to keep in mind that heat only flows one direction so you have to watch you total delta between the chips and the target water temperature.

what’s the Detla T you are getting at what temp/wattage, it seems like there isn’t that much surface area and it’s only stainless for the heat transfer.
