HEATPUNK SUMMIT2027

WHY ATTEND
Three years. Three chapters. Each summit built on the last.
The First Gathering
The first Heatpunk Summit brought together mining developers, pleb builders, tinkerers, firmware hackers, and heating and building experts for the first time ever. Around 150 people in the same room who had never met. The takeaway: we needed to get organized. That gathering led directly to heatpunks.org, the community forum, and everything since.
Formalizing the Movement
The second summit showed what organization looks like. More polished demo systems. More expertise. Professionals from ASHRAE and the DOE. Mining firmware developers. Building engineers. And Hashrate Heatpunks became a formal community project of the 256 Foundation — the 501(c)(3) building the open-source mining stack — with summit host Tyler Stevens named president of its board, giving the community a real organizational home.
No More Barriers. What Will You Build?
The open-source mining stack is in the wild — firmware, hashboard and control-board reference designs, and pool implementations, all open. The one thing that always held builders back is gone. Year three is about acceleration: polish, possibility, and what comes next. Come ready to show what you've built, dig into the public data, and figure out what to tackle now that the barriers are down.
THE BARRIERS ARE GONE
For years, one thing blocked builders more than anything else: closed mining firmware. That barrier is gone. The 256 Foundation has released the open-source mining stack into the wild — and paired with modern AI coding tools, there has never been less standing between an idea and a working build.
> Open-source firmware
OPEN ↗The historic barrier. Closed mining firmware locked builders out — now it runs free on real hardware, hacked onto miners by heatpunks everywhere.
> Hashboard reference designs
OPEN ↗Open schematics and layouts for the boards that do the work. Fork them, spin your own, build for heat.
> Control board reference designs
OPEN ↗The brains of the machine, documented and open. No reverse-engineering required.
> Mining pool implementations
OPEN ↗Open, documented pool software. Point your hashrate where you want it — no permission needed.
So what will you build?
AND THE DATA IS PUBLIC
It is no longer just firmware and hardware. The last year produced real, public evidence — case studies, research papers, policy briefs, and build playbooks, all out in the open. HPS 2027 puts that record on the table and asks the questions that move the industry forward: What does the data actually show? What is still missing for residential, commercial, and regulatory adoption? Whether you build systems, model buildings, or write policy — this is where the numbers get pressure-tested.
> NOW PUBLIC
WHAT TO EXPECT
Two days of focused programming at The Space in Denver — tuned this year for building on the open-source stack.
State of the Stack
Where the open-source mining stack stands, real build data, case studies, and the policy and regulatory picture. Real numbers and real builds — not pitch decks.
Build on the 256 Stack
The 2027 focus: hands-on sessions on actually using the 256 Foundation open-source stack — firmware, reference designs, pool setup — plus collaborative work on the problems that are still hard.
Live Hardware on the Floor
Real mining systems repurposed for heat, custom control boards, firmware running on live hardware. If you built it, bring it. The demo floor is where ideas become credible.
The Room Itself
Mining developers, HVAC and building pros, firmware hackers, and policy people in one place. Meals and the after-party are included — and the optional Feb 25 ski day is where a lot of it happens.
WANT TO DEMO, LEAD A WORKSHOP, OR GIVE A TALK?
We're actively programming HPS 2027 and we prioritize live hardware and working builds over slides. If you've built something or can lead a hands-on session, get in touch.

SECURE YOUR SPOT
HPS 2027 is a curated working event — kept small and hands-on. Join the waitlist and tell us who you are and what you're building. If you're a good fit, we'll send you the link to buy your ticket ($350, fiat or bitcoin).
SPONSOR HPS 2027
The Heatpunk Summit draws the most dedicated builders in bitcoin mining and hashrate heating — firmware developers, hardware engineers, HVAC and building professionals, home miners, and policy experts. People who are actually building systems, not just talking about them.
Sponsoring HPS 2027 puts your brand in front of this community with direct exposure on the demo floor, in the workshops, and in the hallway conversations that don't get recorded. No tier packages or fixed menu — reach out and we'll put together something that makes sense for both sides.

Heatpunk Summit 2026
Heatpunks became a formal project of the 256 Foundation. More polished demos, more experts. ASHRAE and DOE professionals on the floor. The year the movement formalized.
Undermine: HPS 2025
The first gathering. Mining developers, pleb builders, and heating experts in the same room for the first time. The spark that led to Heatpunks.org.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Tickets are $350 USD, payable in fiat or bitcoin. The purchase link is sent after we review your waitlist application — we curate attendance to keep the signal high.
The Heatpunk Summit is a working event, not a conference. We keep it small and hands-on by reviewing who attends. Join the waitlist, tell us about yourself and your work, and if you're a fit we'll send you the ticket link. If demand is high, we prioritize people who are actively building.
February 26–27, 2027 at The Space in RiNo, Denver, Colorado. An optional pre-summit ski day on February 25th is also planned — details to follow, so check back.
Your $350 ticket covers meals during the summit, the after-party, and full access to all talks, workshops, and the demo floor. The optional ski day and your travel and lodging are not included.
From Denver International Airport (DEN), take the RTD A Line train to the 38th & Blake station — the venue is about a 7-minute walk from there. We recommend the Catbird Hotel (roughly a 4-minute walk from the venue and 3 minutes from the train stop). Otherwise, anywhere in RiNo or downtown Denver puts you close.
Mining developers, firmware hackers, pleb builders, HVAC engineers, building professionals, architects, electricians, policy folks, and serious hobbyists. The mix of mining expertise and building/heating expertise in the same room is what makes this event unique.
A laptop if you plan to participate in workshops. If you've built something relevant — bring it. The demo floor is where ideas get real. Dress is casual.
