Would anyone be interested in a silent version of the bitaxe that would act as a coffee warmer. Think copper(etched with bitcoin logo), top 3in diameter with 2in of glass for the 2ph immersion cooling, and rocket fin base.
When we did component testing that were pretty much accidentally made one out of a test chamber that back when we fist attempted to do heat recovery back in 2015.
I think it could be worth my time to do if I can sell for like $300, I’d have to redesign the PCB and make some tweaks, I’d probably only do one production run of them. I have a lot on my plate right now but if there is a large enough response I’ll set up pre-orders and figure out a timeline.
So I’m probably one of the few people that bought the Gekko Science coffee warmer with the very unfortunate name.
The interface of which is great, it’s the warming of coffee that it struggles with. It loses too much heat from the sides.
So would be very nice to have one that works better! Though it may be simpler to wait for one of the multi chip models or use the nerd axe with 4 chips and simply have the warming element be the heat sink for all the chips. Hash rate won’t be as high but your component count goes way down.
Haven’t picked yet but something similar to novec 7100. However most of the similar fluids will have to be limited as technically TSCA limits it to commercial use only so would probably make a one shot production run and then apply for TSCA for an actual mass market product at least in the US, the EU surprisingly doesn’t care as much about this stuff.
I would love this - I’m tired of constantly running from my office to the microwave to reheat coffee after I go down a rabbit hole for an hour and forget to drink it - first world problems.
If there were a way to offer a relatively simple DIY conversion kit for an already-owned bitaxe, that would also be of interest, and might have broader market appeal? Just a thought.
No the fluid is like $500 a gallon so I’d just make a new pcb but keep it electrically the same sans the fan. TSCA would get me in trouble if I sold as a kit it would be a complete sealed unit.
honestly cool idea really everything would be so well sealed so I guess it would be possible though will take a lot more design. Though you wouldn’t be able to keep hashing while drinking unless you got a long cable.
